Polyester FDY Yarn
Polyester FDY (Fully Drawn Yarn) is a smooth, high-tenacity continuous filament yarn produced through a single-step high-speed spinning and drawing process. Unlike DTY, FDY filaments are fully oriented with no crimp, giving the yarn a flat, uniform surface with superior tensile strength and dimensional stability. These properties make FDY the preferred choice for high-speed weaving as warp yarn, warp knitting, lace, and fine fabric applications where surface quality and consistency are paramount. Yaakan supplies FDY in a wide range of deniers and three luster types — semi-dull, bright, and trilobal bright — directly from China's leading polyester producers.

FDY Luster Types
FDY yarn is available in four luster grades, each with distinct visual and processing characteristics suited to different fabric applications.
Note on Full-Dull (FD): A fourth option — Full-Dull FDY — contains higher TiO₂ content for a completely matte appearance, used in technical textiles and certain woven fabrics. Available on request.

Applications of FDY Yarn
FDY's smooth surface, high tenacity, and dimensional stability make it the go-to raw material for precision weaving and knitting applications where surface quality is critical.
The FDY Production Process
FDY is produced in a single integrated step — unlike DTY, there is no separate drawing stage.
